Vanessa Lawrence serves as the neighborhood reporter for Decatur County, joining WTXL in January 2026.
Originally from Central Florida, Vanessa’s journey to the newsroom deepened her appreciation for people, purpose, and storytelling that truly matters. She believes the most powerful journalism is rooted in community and centered on everyday voices, solutions, and real impact.
A proud Florida A&M University graduate, Vanessa earned her degree in Broadcast Journalism and followed an untraditional path into the field — one shaped by patience, faith, and real-world experience.
When she’s not reporting, Vanessa enjoys spending time with loved ones, exploring new places, watching a good movie, and enjoying a great meal.
